ABOUT:

Mathew Wells was born in 2005 on the Isle of Wight. He developed an early passion for photography after receiving a camera at the age of eight. Over the past decade, he has refined a distinctive visual style, producing dynamic and expressive imagery.

Mathew photographs a mixture of sports, street, and motorsports. He is particularly drawn to sports photography, most notably to the various disciplines of cycling. His enthusiasm for motorsport has also taken him to a wide range of events, from the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb to Rallycross at Lydden Hill. Beyond action photography, Mathew also embraces the creative challenge of street photography, producing a striking collection of images, many of which are showcased on this website.

He has worked extensively across the Isle of Wight, covering sports events for the Isle of Wight County Press and photographing major sailing events, including on-shore coverage of the Round the Island Race and Cowes Week. Among his notable achievements is having his cycling images published in Cycling Weekly magazine.
